Fenner Drives Honored with The Arc of Lancaster County’s
Opportunity Award

Lancaster, PA, May 9, 2016 – Fenner Drives is honored to be presented with the Opportunity Award from The Arc of Lancaster County. The award recognizes a person or business that makes an extraordinary effort to help people with disabilities achieve greater independence. One critical component to independence is the ability to find and keep employment. Fenner Drives addressed this component by partnering with the York District Office of Vocational Rehabilitation to be the first company within York’s district office to offer Manheim Central School District Students work based learning opportunities. The Arc of Lancaster was instrumental in connecting the two to develop the program.

“We are thrilled to be honored with this award from The Arc of Lancaster County,” said Kara Donatucci Pham, Vice President of Human Resources for Fenner Drives. “Our entire organization has benefitted tremendously from the program we introduced this year with students from Manheim Central. Not only are we able to get additional work completed, but our staff is able to walk away with an immense sense of pride that they are helping these kids prepare for independence as they grow into adulthood. We look forward to continuing to work with The Arc of Lancaster County to enrich the lives of those in our community.”
