NINJAFLEX® FLEXIBLE 3D PRINTING FILAMENT BY NINJATEK


NinjaFlex® flexible 3D printing filament is the industry leading flexible filament. NinjaFlex® filament is made from a specially formulated thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) material. This patented technology boasts great flexibility with a low-tack, easy-to-feed texture. The result is uniquely flexible, strong prints ideal for direct-drive extruders.

All NinjaFlex® filaments are made in the USA and are available in 1.75mm (500 grams) and 3mm (750 grams).

PRINTING GUIDELINES:

  • Print Temperature Target:   230 (Range 225-235)
  • Print Bed Temperature: Ambient to 40C.
  • Print Bed Preparation: No special preparation is required.
  • Print Speed:
    • Top and bottom layers: 10-20mm/
    • Infill speeds: 15mm/s – 35mm/s
  • Cooling Fans: ON if available

    Review

    Using ninjaflex filament offers you a flexible rapid proto material that can be used to test flexible devices. In order to print these materials, you should either use a direct-extruder or use a bowden-tube machine with modification like explained here: https://www.youmagine.com/designs/ultimaker-2-straight-tube-flexible-filament-spool-holder

    This material was tricky to use at first, but the big important things: -Garolite printing platform is a MUST for good adhesion. I sanded mine with 200 grit sandpaper and clean between every use with ISO. Some garolite boards aren't flat, so watch out... -220C extruder temp. works great for me. -Use the ooze control feature in your printing software! And really use the retraction and wipe features too. -Slow down! -If your extruder has any gap between the drive gear and the hot-end input, this stuff will find a way to bend into that gap. I printed a nylon block to bridge that gap on my Bukobot's Spitfire nozzle. After figuring out these tricks, I'm printing GORGEOUS rubber parts. So strong I can't rip, tear or break them - even along the print layers.

    Review

    We are trying to use this to print door seals for a machine we manufacture. We have difficulty getting the settings right for the first solid layer above the infill. The tech support from Fenner is abysmal. If they would help us figure this out, we would be buying several rolls of filament.

    Bought Orange & Black filament and the orange works great. Love having the option to print rubber based parts. A real game changer! note: Still can't get black to extrude consistently from the same machine. It starts, but always stops somewhere along the print. I am assuming the colors may give better quality prints as the pigment likely makes the filament a little harder and easier for the extruder to grab. Have had no issue with orange at: Makerbot Replicator 2: 90% fill 2 shells .2 layer 225' 35mm/s extrude 150mm/s travel
