In celebration of International Women in Engineering Day, Fenner Precision Polymers is proud to highlight Mary-Angela Kenney, a trailblazer in the engineering field and a key leader in the organization for the past eight years. As the Divisional Vice President of Research and Development (R&D), she leads a global technical community comprised of engineers, scientists, and chemists, all dedicated to developing new products, identifying new technology, and managing the lifecycle of existing products across Fenner's three global product families: Industrial Motion, High-Tech Coated Fabrics, and Air & Fluid Handling.

In her role, Mary-Angela collaborates with a variety of functions across the global organization, including engaging with our customers and suppliers. Visiting and listening to customers and suppliers are essential elements in the product development process. Having an active program for incorporating interns on her team each year is another source of fulfillment, particularly when there is a chance to work with young men and women pursuing engineering or other STEM fields. She appreciates the fresh energy and new perspectives they bring, even if it occasionally makes her feel a bit more "experienced." Their enthusiasm and innovative ideas contribute to the dynamic and collaborative environment she fosters within the R&D department.

Outside of her professional life, Mary-Angela is a wife and mother to two adult children, Olivia and Patrick. Since they don't live in Pennsylvania, she makes it a point to travel frequently to visit them and plan annual vacations together. Her family remains a central part of her life, and she treasures their time together.

Supporting the community outside of Fenner is important to Mary-Angela and she has been an active member of Fenner's Outreach Committee. One of the areas that have been a passion for her for many years is supporting the organizations who serve the special needs community. This involvement exemplifies her compassionate nature and desire to make a positive impact beyond her professional responsibilities.

Mary-Angela enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending time at the beach with friends and family in her leisure time. These activities provide her with a much-needed balance to her high-paced professional life. She is also an aspiring golfer, hoping to improve her game when she can devote more time to the sport.
