Fenner Precision Polymers Employee Spotlight - Amber Sheckard

Title: Digital Production Manager (Just under 5 yrs.)

For a marketing team to fire on all cylinders, it takes stamina, dedication, creativity, and a passion for continuous learning. Amber Sheckard, Fenner’s Digital Production Manager, checks all the boxes. Amber has been with the marketing team in the U.S. for nearly five years. She currently helps support departmental initiatives through a wide variety of services.

As a production manager, she believes a crucial part of her role is ensuring that “process” and “ease of doing business” are top priorities, which makes maintaining a workflow and system where automation and documentation are achieved paramount.

As Fenner’s digital marketing subject matter expert, Amber is also responsible for providing insight and direction on enhancing the company’s web presence and brand recognition. That extends across all of the various lines of business and brands, which often means working hand-in-hand with colleagues in IT.

Amber takes pride in her ability to analyze and dissect information and then use strategic tactics to formalize a plan of action. She recognizes that communication and active listening are central to a collaborative and healthy work environment. Without effective communication and tuning into the human aspect, any project or initiative will be an uphill battle.

One of her primary initiatives this year is launching a new Fenner website. As both Project Manager and part of the project team, Amber expects to have her work cut out for her – but it’s a welcomed challenge. She looks forward to how the new website will provide brand clarity and grow the company’s digital footprint. The added benefits the technology will provide to Fenner sales and product development teams are especially exciting.

Amber recently earned her Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® credential through the Project Management Institute (PMI). CAPM certification recognizes a project practitioner’s knowledge and competency in their field’s fundamentals, including processes, frameworks, methodologies, and best practices. Implementing the lessons learned and knowledge gained from this course of study will benefit current and future initiatives.

On a personal level, Amber believes that people are given opportunities, often in the form of hardship, to provide hope and leadership to others. She has a passion for helping people suffering from addiction, abuse, or trauma. She's grateful when life presents opportunities or situations where she can provide support and inspiration.

In her free time, Amber enjoys working out at the gym, (occasionally trying to outlift her husband), or spending time outdoors-either kayaking, scouting, or sitting patiently in a tree stand bow-hunting with her husband.

For those who know her, Amber will rarely be found sitting idle. If it's not challenging or not positively impacting her or someone else, she is simply on to the next thing! Amber shares her life with her husband, three adult children, stepson, and granddaughter. When they don't keep her busy enough, she makes time to take some home-baked goods to work – another small way to bring people together.
