Every company aims to have a sustainable, safe, and healthy workplace along with effective quality management systems. MAV, a Fenner Precision Polymers – Michelin Group company, has been successful in achieving these goals with the help of exceptional employees like Andrea Mattei. Andrea is a Quality and HSE Manager at MAV who has been with the company for one year.
Andrea Mattei's job involves analyzing the company and continually improving it in terms of quality, safety, and the environment. To achieve this, he relies on facts and data, largely basing his work on Lean principles. In his role, he ensures the proper functioning of the integrated management system and focuses on eliminating, reducing, and managing risks for a healthy and safe workplace. Specifically, Andrea's work aims to reduce waste, such as energy, resources, and other forms to make MAV even more sustainable. His personal goal is to strive for zero accidents, and he consistently measures and monitors performance to achieve this goal.
One unique thing about Andrea is that you can always find a small note on his desk with the Lean 7 wastes + 1. This note reminds him of the primary focus of his work, eliminating waste and improving processes, but also employee potential. Andrea's greatest satisfaction comes from the successful and swift renewal of ISO 9001 certifications for quality and ISO 14001 for the environment. This achievement speaks to his dedication and hard work towards continuously improving the quality management systems and the environment.
Outside of his work, Andrea is a nature enthusiast. He enjoys climbing mountains, biking scenic routes, sailing Trentino lakes, and skiing with friends. He balances his work life with a love for outdoor activities that clear his mind and recharge his batteries.
Andrea is an equally passionate activist focused on civil rights, diversity, and inclusion. In 2023, he took a leading role in organizing and managing related events, which showcased his leadership qualities and community spirit.
