Fenner Precision Polymers Employee Spotlight - Emily Ramirez

Title: Freight Coordinator (30 yrs. With FabriCote, 4 with Fenner)

The most successful companies only become successful because of the high-caliber people they are able to attract and retain—people who stay the course over the long haul. They are the brain trust and keepers of institutional knowledge that propel companies forward, while skillfully avoiding business pitfalls and customer disruptions. They are people like Freight Coordinator, Emily Ramirez.

Emily has been with the Fenner brand of companies for more than 34 years, first with FabriCote and more recently with Fenner Precision Polymers. In these roles she has provided both leadership and hands-on management. That includes directing staff in the exports, LTL, and receiving areas of the distribution center.

A key part of that role involves working with distribution center managers to elevate customer needs and to build a sense of urgency that achieves the very highest level of  world-class customer service. Identifying and solving for process gaps or inefficiencies is another big part of this effort and it is a skill that Emily has honed after years of experience. Equally, if not more important, is her day-to-day work maintaining focus on safety and promoting a “safety-oriented” workplace culture.

One of the things that Emily is most proud of, however, is starting a new program called PRO Ship. Prior to the program, shipping materials to clients was a time-consuming process. PRO Ship allows Emily to cut this down to a fraction of the previously required time. It’s a win-win for Fenner and its clients. The more efficient process frees up staff to be much more productive and client satisfaction is enhanced with a faster, more streamlined delivery time.

When she is not lending her experience and expertise to help grow the business, Emily likes to connect with family. That usually entails lots of barbecues. Walking and bike riding are also high-up on her list of downtime activities. However, when it’s time to relax, painting is one of her go-to pastimes along with yoga which she also recently started.
