Fenner Precision Polymers Employee Spotlight - Maria Hendriksma

Title: Supply Planning Supervisor

Relatively new to Fenner, Maria Hendriksma has only been with the team for approximately 18 months, yet her transition into the organization has been nearly seamless.

Maria’s role entails close collaboration with several cross-functional team members. In doing so, she constantly works to drive positive change, resolve issues, and anticipate long-range opportunities for improvement. It’s no easy task and requires a great deal of people and management skills—something that she easily executes with professionalism and in a manner that encourages and motivates her colleagues.

Removing barriers that allow her team to perform and execute on strategy, is a top priority. Maria understands the benefits delivered when a team is challenged and feels empowered to be the best version of themselves. She sees it as a key part of her role and believes that kind of focus at the individual level helps drive success for Fenner overall.

Maria believes there are many ways a manager can advocate for organizational excellence. Her approach is to encourage the team as a whole to strive for continual growth, while coaching them on setting and attaining goals.

What she enjoys most about her job, however, is having an opportunity to work with associates from all areas of the business. It provides a chance to get better acquainted with co-workers and offers her an expanded view of the business.

She also likes the fact that there is always a new challenge, something different to tackle every single day. It could show up in the form of an issue directly related to work, her participation on the Outreach Committee, or with the Fenner Women’s Resource Group – all of which she thoroughly enjoys. Serving as co-vice chair on the leadership board of Women in Manufacturing (WiM) for the Central PA Chapter adds to her perspective on both the challenges and the opportunities throughout the industry.

At home, Maria puts work aside and instead focuses attention on her family and her role as a wife and stepmom. She likes to spend most of this time in a number of relaxing and rejuvenating ways that include cooking, baking, gardening, cycling, and hiking.

Her community is important as well. In that regard, Maria lends her time and energy as a volunteer for Light of Christ Ministries and Junior Achievement.
